    Kia Ora Y8 and welcome to your Global Studies course page for 2021. This is where you will find all the necessary information required for your Global Studies course. All tasks, activities and assessments will be placed here as well as additional lesson notes and resources. Please make it a habit to check this page at the start of each week. It will ensure that you are aware of any expectations we may have of you at that time.

    Kia Ora Y8. We just observed Waitangi Day in the long weekend. This week, we are learning about 'The Treaty of Waitangi.' We will be looking at the timeline of the events before and after the Tiriti. Also we will learn a few definitions related with this. We will have a quiz to finish the week's learning off.

    2021 8W2-GLOBAL STUDIES ASSESSMENT 2: KIA PUAWAI

    MAKING A SHORT FILM ON THE THEME/S OF RACISM, BIAS, DISCRIMINATION, STEREOTYPES

    THIS IS A GROUP TASK. Working within your group, you will make a short film of not more than 5 minutes to demonstrate your understanding of the ideas in relation to the societal injustice issues such as Racism, Bias, Discrimination and/or Stereotypes and change-makers in the society. 

     For your assessment you will do the following: 

    • Make a short film on ‘RACISM, BIAS, DISCRIMINATION, STEREOTYPES’ for a maximum of 5 minutes length.

    • The film must have a logical story with a middle and conclusive ending.

    • The film must have a title and the credits for each person’s role. Also give appropriate credit to any external agency that you may have used in your film such as for music, animation etc. 

    • As discussed, each person must  complete a write-up. Also each one of you will grade every member of the group on their contribution to the film. Use the given template for the write up and upload it INDIVIDUALLY on MHOL. 

    • Only the group leader will upload the film on MHOL on behalf of their group. Rest of the members will only upload their evaluation report.
