    Welcome back to school. I hope you have had great break.

    My name is Mr Taha and I am going to be your DVC teacher for 2020.

    We will start our course by learning about DVC, drawing tools and equipment and how to draw straight lines and circles. We also going to learn about drawing 2D and 3D objects. Later we will be starting our project of designing a teenager retreat which will provide us with the opportunity to apply what we learn.

    2. expectations (attendance, quality, completion of work) show equipment used and storage of equipment
    3. students set up with boards and equipment, 2H and HB
    4. pencil types, using pencils correctly, line types, drawing sequence
    5. exercise 1 Using A3 paper, lines and angles, set squares, T square, correct use of pencils and eraser
    6. exercise 2 using worksheet,Measuring, dimensions, set squares, printing

    Homework:

    Explore types of drawing tools and types of pencils.

    This week we will learn about floor plans and elevations.

    Use floor planner to make a small independent dwelling for a teenager. Refer to the brief and specifications.

    • Using Floorplanner to print a refined scale version of our refined idea.
    • Plan the elevations of the walls in inkscape ready for the laser cutter.

    • Success Criteria: 
    • I have completed  and printed a floor plan to scale
    • I have completed 1 elevation to scale for the laser cutter.

    • Using software to explore design ideas 
    Section 2/ Refined Design Development 

    This section is where you refine/develop a floor plan into a single final design. Your development will show how your design progresses from an initial design concept into a final design.
