During our context ‘Matariki’ we have been exploring our personal identity, relationships and the cultures in Maunga whanau. In PEH we have focussed on how social and cultural practices are expressed through the traditional Māori games - Tapuwae and Ki o Rahi.
We have been participating in progressions of these games throughout term 2, reading and understanding the purakau and game whakapapa, incorporating the use of Te Reo Māori during our sessions and discussing the effect of strategy on gameplay.
