Assessment Instructions

Your context this term in Wai Whanau is ‘In the Name of Peace’. In PEH, we have begun by identifying the impacts that war and conflict can have on young people's Physical, Social, Spiritual, and Mental/Emotional Well-being. We will begin exploring 4 social organisations (Red Cross, UNICEF, Project HOPE, Doctors without Borders) and how they are working to support and promote the well-being of young victims in the Ukraine war.

For this assessment, you will:

  • As a group choose one social organisation (community resource) to research.

  • As a group decide on a social action to complete as a group in Week 3, Term 3 (youth peace week).

  • Individually complete a proposal document.

  • Decide on your group's best proposal document to be emailed to Mr Naidoo.

This assessment will take place during class time and your own time in weeks 8, 9 & 10 of Term 2. You will be provided with a template for your proposal document on google classroom and each individual is to upload their proposal as a PDF to MHO.

You will be marked on the following criteria:

Community Resource

This will be your ability to identify and describe the social organisation (community resource) your group has chosen.

Proposed Action

Your proposed social action is achievable and promotes involvement from the community.

Connection to Well-being

You have explained how the social organisation you are promoting is supporting three dimensions of wellbeing for young victims of war.

Assessment due Thursday 7th July, 4pm (Week 10, Term 2)
