          • We are PLANNING......to Discover a Local Community resource ( Totara Park & Botanical Gardens ) so that we can...collaborate as a class to perform a set of physical tasks and take this knowledge with us for the future.



    FOCUS / ARONGA

    FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

    • We are FOCUSING...on Discovering Tamaki Mākaurau and the outdoors
    • We are FOCUSING...on identifying outdoor places in Tamaki Makaurau that can enhance our well being
    • We are FOCUSING...on being able to develop a sense of adventure for visiting places in our community.


    EXPLORE / TŪHURA

    EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

    • We are EXPLORING...local parks + recreation spaces to make the connection to a healthy lifestyle and to recognise to stay active outside of school
    • We are EXPLORING...and investigation local community resources in Tamaki Makaurau and how it can enhance our well being
    • We are EXPLORING...mapping skills with our local environment both within and outside our school.

      • Activities: 
      • As a class we will make several visits to local community resources ( Silvana Park etc) and students will be able to record these as evidence for their assessment 
      • In theory lessons the class will focus on prior knowledge of all 4 dimensions of Hauora in so students are aware of this link to the assessment
      • Students will continue with bike skills knowledge in preparation for the Totara Park trip
