    Activities:

    1. Warm up 
    2. Recap of what is an equation
    3. Ask students to read the word problem on the board
    4. How will you solve it? Table groups - Try to solve the problem
    5. Discussion on different methods used by groups to solve it
    6. Can we construct an equation from the word problem using variables for the unknowns? 
    7. Students have a go at doing that in their table groups
    8. Teacher shares her own equation and solution - Feedback from class - does it make sense, can we construct the equation in a different way and solve?
    9. Practice questions 
    10. Extension
