Learning Intention:
We are learning about the different components of fitness and the changes that occur in our bodies, so we can understand the internal forces in our body and work to be healthier/happier individuals.
Success Criteria:

Identify the components of the FITT principle.

List the way in which you are currently physically active.

Describe ways in which you can be active but enjoy such physical activity.

Describe a FITT goal in which you can spend the term working towards

Explain the importance of understanding fitness strategies in order to improve your health

Evaluate your ability to work towards your own fitness goal and how you achieved this this term.
Term 1 CONTEXT - May the force be with you . . .
WEDNESDAY - Health/Theory
Today we will begin our new context for this term.
1.) Complete a pie chart of an average week day for yourself. Each fraction on the pie chart represents an hour of your day. Colour all "activities" a different colours.
2.) Find out what percentage of your day you are active (eg. PE, sports training, etc.). This questions must be written in your book and answered as a percentage.
3.) Do you think this is higher or lower than the average kiwi kid? Why do you think this? (write question/answer in your book).
4.) Looking at the info-graph below . . . write the recommendations for kids you age for sleep, activity and screen-time in your books. This is taken from the 2007 Health and Wellbeing of Secondary School Students in NZ.
5.) Do you meet these recommendations? Yes or no and why (write question/answer in your book)?
6.) Now, interpret the below graph. What would you say about the average kiwi teen and their activity levels? (Good vs. Bad) Explain in a SEXY paragraph. Also how do you compare to the average kiwi? (write question/answer in your book).
THURSDAY - Practical (Kapua)
Today we will complete our first fitness session of the term. Make sure you have your PEH gear, as this will set you up well for you next assessment.
FRIDAY - Practical (other)
We will discuss your fitness goals today.
