    Learning Intention:

    We are learning different rules, techniques, and physiology functions, that relate to sport in order to understand how movement strategies can be acquired and then applied to a variety of sports.

     

    Success Criteria:

     
    • Identify different movement strategies that are found in multiple sports (invasion games) 

    • List the key muscles/bones of the human body

    • Describe 3 movement strategies that can be used in invasion games

    • Describe the relationship between bones and muscles in relation to human movement 

     


    • Explain the importance of movement strategies and why knowledge of them is important to sporting success

    • Demonstrate these movement strategies across different invasion games

     
    • Evaluate your own ability to use movement strategies in different invasion games.

     


    Term 1 CONTEXT - History's Mysteries . . . 

    MONDAY - Health/Theory - make sure you have your PEH book!

    We will continue the Anatomy side of our learning which connects to the Science component of our context.

    We will then discuss the different types of joints in the human body.

    3 Types of Joints = Fibrous, Cartilaginous, Synovial

    1. Fibrous - do not move, held together by ligaments (eg. different bones in skull)

    2. Cartilaginous - cartilage is used to fuse bones together (eg. spine)

    3. Synovial - most common, highly moveable, 6 types . . .

    Hinge eg. your knee
    Pivot eg. your neck
    Ball and Socket eg. your hip
    Saddle eg. your thumb
    Condyloid eg. your wrist
    Gliding eg. Intercarpal joints - your hand



    THURSDAY - Practical - Rugby

    Remember your PE gear and hat.

    Our practical focus is movement strategies. We will continue to begin to look at effort awareness - the level of participation you put in is directly related to team success. Today we will play Lacrosse.


    FRIDAY - Practical - Gym 

    Remember your PE gear and hat.

    Our practical focus is movement strategies. We will continue to begin to look at effort awareness - the level of participation you put in is directly related to team success. We will do this today by playing a further adapted version of Handball.
