Learning Intention:
We are learning different rules, techniques, and physiology functions, that relate to sport in order to understand how movement strategies can be acquired and then applied to a variety of sports.
Success Criteria:

Identify different movement strategies that are found in multiple sports (invasion games)

List the key muscles/bones of the human body

Describe 3 movement strategies that can be used in invasion games

Describe the relationship between bones and muscles in relation to human movement

Explain the importance of movement strategies and why knowledge of them is important to sporting success

Demonstrate these movement strategies across different invasion games

Evaluate your own ability to use movement strategies in different invasion games.
Term 1 CONTEXT - History's Mysteries . . .
MONDAY - Health/Theory - make sure you have your PEH book!
This will be our first in-class session of the year. We will begin the Anatomy side of our learning which connects to the Science component of our context.
1.) Functions of Bones! - support, protection, movement, storage, produces blood cells
2.) Who can label a skeleton correctly???? We will do this through labelling, drawing, and some practical good old Simon Says!

Remember your PE gear and hat.
Our practical focus is movement strategies. Last week we focussed on active defence - this will be our focus this week too.
Today we will play a variation of capture the flag in order to further understand 'active defence' and be able to clearly visually see it.
FRIDAY - Practical - Gym
Remember your PE gear and hat.
Our practical focus is movement strategies. Last week we focussed on active defence - this will be our focus this week too.
Today we will play handball - the same game as last week but we will alter the rules to make active defence more visible and critical for game success.
