Learning intentions~
• Understand what the census is and why it is important
• Understand that people have social, cultural and economic roles, rights and
responsibilities which include participating in the census (L2 Social Studies, NZ
Curriculum)
• Understand how people use the census to make decisions about access and the use of
resources (L3 Social Studies, NZ Curriculum)
Success Criteria: I can~
• Complete the KWL chart
• Complete the clothing analogy activity calculating costs
• Student participation in a mini class census
- Count and collect date
- Solve word and number problems
• Creation of student TikTok style video that demonstrates understanding of the census
and its importance (optional)
