  • This week we are completing our study of the elements of Mise-en-scene. With three elements now covered, we will be completing by looking at the final two elements: positioning of characters and facial expressions / body language.

    WE ARE LEARNING TO IDENTIFY AND EXPLAIN HOW FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, POSITIONING AND BODY LANGUAGE COMMUNICATES MEANING IN VISUAL TEXTS

    In your table groups you will be viewing a series of images and movie trailers and analysing what the positioning of the characters reveals about the character and those they are relating to.

    You will know you have been successful when you have:

    • participated in a class analysis of a visual text
    • worked effectively in groups
    • analysed the facial expressions and positioning of a range of images and videos
    • explained the effect of the facial expressions and body positioning, on the mood and feelings created in the audience
