We welcome Ms Al Darkazly (Ms A) to her weeks 5 & 6 with our class.
This week our focus is starting on our Sleepwear Challenge - making some boxers with a matching top and the 3 girls doing their Sweatshirts.
Focus also on Fabric Decoration Methods - workshops
Learning Intentions
We are EXPLORING different types of boxers to get ideas to personalise our boxers
We are EXPLORING measurements, patterns and pattern symbols so that we can find the right pattern size and place the pattern on the fabric and cut it out correctly.
We are FOCUSING on cutting out our Boxers or Sweatshirts so that we can start to construct.
We are EXPLORING & FOCUSSING on Fabric Decoration Methods that we might be able to decorate on a top to match our boxers or put on our Sweatshirt.
I can/ Ihave explored different styles of boxers and completed the activities in the journal
I can/have explored how to take measurements and have taken my own
I can/have chosen the correct pattern size and placed it on the fabric correctly and cut this out
I can/have cut out my pattern and pinned the pieces together to show the teacher before sewing.
I can/have worked through the construction steps to make my boxers or sweatshirt.
I can/have explored different methods of decorating fabric
Activities:
Make sure you have finished your bag and journal for A1. Follow instructions given by the teacher or use the laminated instruction cards.
Complete the activities in the Boxer journal on Measuring.
Choose your pattern size
Place your pattern on your fabric and pin in place - get the teacher to check before cutting.
Start constructing your boxers - follow instructions from the teacher demo and from in the Boxer Journal.
Participate in the workshops on Fabric Decorating Methods - choose 1 you like the best to use on your top and /or use this for your Assessment 2.
Anaaya / Joanne/ Arushi - continue working on the Sweatshirt Challenge Doc. When you have your Design worked out - try and work out a sequence of construction now that you know the changes you are making from the basic pattern steps.
Please get your pattern onto your fabric and cut out asap.
Participate in the FDM workshops - make a sample for your Assessment 2.
