PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:
-
- We are PLANNING... to attend the Youth Symposium, targeting 10–18-year-old rangatahi of all genders. so that we can...understand education menstruation, in areas of Te Ao Māori, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and sport and wellbeing.- By attending the above at the start of this context all our students will promote an understanding, empathy and respect for everyone which will then follow into the other topics we intent to cover.
- The youth symposium will prepare us to then to hold classroom sessions on the reproductive system, decision making, contraception, consent and safe decision making. It is hoped that after this learning students can share this knowledge with other peers.
- We are learning about the differences and similarities between Male & Female. This is in context to Puberty, how the brain operates, sexuality, consent, Reproductive Anatomy and the risks associated with sexuality.
FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

- We are FOCUSING...The transformation of the teenage brain and how we can explain decision making to avoid a risky consequence
- We are FOCUSING...On developing an understanding and enhancing our knowledge of both genders differences and similarities with relation to puberty, the reproductive system, peer pressure and the consequences of our decisions
- We are FOCUSING...On being able to identify how a measured informed decision making process can enhance our Hauora in relation to gender, reproduction and making safe decisions.
- We are Focusing on understanding the opposite gender to gain more empathay for others
EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

- We are EXPLORING...Our ability to understand decision making/motivations through an understanding of how the brain works
- We are EXPLORING...How to classify male and female sexual reproduction body parts and recognise the function they have
- We are exploring the role we have in decision making and how it affects us now and in the future.
