PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:
- We are PLANNING our construction steps so that we can follow to prepare and produce our final outcome of making a sound amplifier case
Kia ora
In this week we will continue our design process to make the actual sound amplifier case for a mobile phone. We will continue learning about the construction steps of measuring, marking and cutting, Joining parts and then finishing by painting or varneshingWe will be learning to:
- Work through the design process to make a portable sound amplifier case
- Come up with design ideas, develop some concept sketches
- Write a personal design brief
- Create working drawings for our project
- construct a model - prototype of our designs
- Start working on the actual product
- Construct the sound amplifier case.
Success Criteria: I have:
- designed and made a portable sound amplifier case for my phone using the design process
- developped some concept sketches based on the design ideas
- Writen a personal design brief
- create a working drawing showing all measurements
- create a model- prototype of my design
- measured, marked and cut my wood material
- nailed the parts together and drilled holes for the wires
Activities:
- Create a mood board. Annotate likes and dislikes. Make links on the board to your project needs. Write a conclusive statement about what my project outcome needs to be able to do and be. Develop a design brief.
- Draw a concept sketch and develop.fully into working drawings, giving details and measurements
- Create a model-prototype
- Develop a Materials/Shopping list
- Start measuring, marking and cutting
- Connect the woooden pieces together by nailing
- Drill holes for the speskers, power and sound cable
