Success Criteria:
Students will have investigated a range of shapes and created a poster to show their knowledge of how to calculate the area, perimeter volume and surface area within the context ‘Te Taha Wairua.’ Students will use a digital application to explain their poster and to show their understanding of measurement and geometry concepts.
Activities:
At Goat Island, Year 8 students used a range of buoyancy aids. Draw a poster to show your understanding of the area by calculating:
The area of a boogie board
The area of a tire inner tube
At Goat Island, many Year 8 students enjoyed the opportunity to eat a shared picnic lunch. On your A3 Poster, draw your picnic
Area: Of your towel
Volume: Of your water bottle and lunch box
Liquid Capacity: Of your water bottle
Composite Shapes: eg. Two towels joined together
