  • Kia ora...students and welcome  to week 2. For this week you will explore the various tourism  destinations  within New Zealand. Explore these areas with what they have to offer in terms of adventure, relaxation, education and sustainable awareness.

    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • understood the map of NewZealand key tourism destinations
    • researched the activities these tourism destinations offer

    Activities:

    1. Research  the meaning of these types of tourism, with explanations and pictures.: Adventure/ Cultural Environmental/ Sports/ Recreational.
    2. See pictures on the white board that link with these types of tourism. 
    3. Look up a map of NZ, that showcase key tourism destinations.
    4. Create a visual that showcases what are the important destinations in nZ, and the various activities based here.
    5. See video on Cultural Tourism in Rotouroa  Express your views on the importance of Maori cultural productions showcased here. What suggestions would you propose for people to respect, engage and appreciate such cultural shows in NZ.
    6. How do you think Covid 19 has impacted on tourism destinations in NZ.
    7. Research one News paper article that show that the tourism industry has been affected by Covid. Explain your views here. Think of airlines/ hotels as well as the food industry.
    8. Brainstorm ways in which the tourism industry can be revived.
