Kia ora...students. I hope by now you have some understanding of how our earth is healing during the covid 19 pandemic. It is important that wee have a deep understanding of the environmental problems that occur on earth. For this week an to choose one environmental problem and design a solution that addresses this problem.

• begin to research one serious environmental problem from the discussions of the previous lesson.
• Understand the checklist and follow criteria
• create a file to document progression

Success Criteria: I can/have...

• started to research one environmental problem by following template

Activities:Your research is a 2 week activity that can be documented in a  video or slideshow.

1. Do Now: Analyse the cartoon below.Share your views with the class.
2. Complete the cross word puzzle. Use the new vocabulary for your project work.
   
3. By working FROM HOME,  choose one environmental problem that you wish to address. It can be any of the following you came up with in the last session: Poaching/ air pollution like smog/Global Warming/ plastic pollution in the Pacific Ocean, deforestation in Amazon/ Pollution of Rivers. 
4. Use this template to document your ideas: Title/ case study location with maps/ key definitions/ reasons for this environmental problem eg: Political/ Economic/ Ignorance/ lack of resources/ Social and cultural, impacts this problem has onto the environment/ people/ and the economy/ what laws are there to prevent or stop this problem/ who do you think is responsible. think of solutions in place but one that you will eventually create.
5. You can create a video thats discusses the information above or create a slide show.
6. Use a variation of resources to make your work look interesting eg maps/ images/ newspaper articles/ political cartoons/ laws and policies/ infographics/ video links/ posters etc
