  • Kia ora 8C2!   Welcome to Week 2 of Term 3. 
    Our learning context  this term is Ultimate Survivor. We will  continue exploring the whakatauki. 

    • This whakatauki you have chosen last week will become your driving force - your inner voice that will make you focus,  march forward, question, reflect and appreciate and take your giftedness and creativity to greater heights.  Allow it to guide your process.  

    • When doing your Global - English Assessment, remember to include and acknowledge  your whakatauki in the letter.



    EXPLORE / TŪHURA

    EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

    • We are EXPLORING the whakatauki in the Maori culture.
    • We are EXPLORING the interpretation of the whakatauki.
    • We are EXPLORING how these whakatauki are universal messages.


    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • chosen a whakatauki for myself
    • interpreted my chosen whakatauki and written a paragraph explanation of it.

    Activities:

    For Maths (Planning & Budgeting)

    • Write a letter/email of request to raise money for your trip to Wellington. Letter template
    • Discuss the requirements with your group, draft the letter, get Mr Jackson/Mrs Narayan to check the letter, email your recipient. You must make sure your letter has no errors, then send.

    1. Round 1 (10 minutes) - roam around to explore the whakatauki (link) displayed around.
    2. Round 2 (5 minutes) -  choose a whakataki you connect with.
    3. Write the whakatauki in your book
