This weeks's major focus is your Assessment 1. Manage time well, collaborate with your group and invest your best in doing your first English assessment. Refer to the question, instructions and rubrics to guide your learning.
Remember:
- Your ideas should show evidence that you have used a range of resources to get information from.
- 'Dress up your sentences'
- Use proper writing structure
- Include correct use of language features- punctuation, descriptive language, figures os speech etc.
- Your readers should be able to visualise your story in their heads, so when writing, think like a reader!

Our context this term is ‘Ultimate Survivor’. For today’s session, students will create a story of survival.
Imagine you went on a 2-day tramp with a group of friends. Somehow, on the second day, you get separated from your friends and get lost. Your friends return home and inform the police about your disappearance. The rescue search party starts looking for you but it takes 3 days before they find you. What was to be a 2-day trip became a 4-day one.
Upon returning home, a week later, you appear on Seven Sharp to share your experience and maybe be a source of inspiration to future young trampers.

The year 2020 has been an extraordinary one. We have seen the world halt, crumple, revive and unite. If anything, this extraordinary experience has taught us to stop, reflect and trust the power of unity, resilience and courage, value individuality, and spread understanding, empathy and empowerment.Mauria te pono.
