Kia ora...and welcome to Week 6 of Term 1! On Tuesday we will be finishing off looking at Baking Ingredients and their functions. We will be looking at Sugar and Fat.
On Friday we will be making Scones. Scones use a Baking Technique called Rubbing In. The fat is rubbed into the flour to prevent gluten formation, ensuring the scones stay nice and light in texture.

Success Criteria:
I know I have been successful if I have/can:
- make scones in my group
- know what rubbing in means
- can name some functions of sugar and fat in baking mixtures
