    Kia Ora Y7. This week, we are all presenting a song from our respective cultures. We need to share it with the class and 

    tell them about what culture and language it comes from and also on what occasion/s it is played.

    Big Idea:

    Get Moving, Get Grooving

    Activities:

    Sharing a cultural song with our class.

    Telling the class about the culture &  language of the song.

    Telling the class on what occasions it is played/what kind of song this is (such as wedding song and birthday song etc.)

    Focus: 

    -We are FOCUSING on developing a script for the culture performance showcase.

    -We are FOCUSING on identifying different cultural celebrations for events.

    Learning Intentions: 

    We are exploring ......the differences between our own and other people's cultural celebrations by comparing and contrasting different cultures. 

    We are exploring... cultural celebrations by understanding the connections between oral, written and visual language

    We are exploring...cultural celebrations by having an awareness of purpose and audience through our deliberate choices relating to content, language and text form

    -Understand the differences in cultural celebrations by comparing and contrasting different cultures.

    -Understand about the purpose and audience of different cultural celebrations through deliberate choices relating to content, language and text form

    -Understand about cultural celebrations by making  the connections between oral, written and visual language
