Section outline
-
EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:
- We are EXPLORING to classify the forces into contact and non-contact.
- We are EXPLORING to connect Newtons Laws of Motion with everyday life.
- We are EXPLORING to discover the relationship between Mass, acceleration and Force.
- We are EXPLORING to calculate Mass, acceleration and Force.
- We are EXPLORING to analyse and interpret the different forces in action in sports.
FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:
- We are FOCUSING on explaining and describing the patterns associated with physical phenomena found in simple everyday situations involving movement, forces, electricity and magnetism, light, sound, waves, and heat.
- We are FOCUSING on identifying the different variables in investigations relevant to forces.
- We are FOCUSING on developing the skills required to collect, describe and discuss scientific data relevant to forces.
PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:
- We are PLANNING to design an experiment, create a scientific report and justify the Science behind the result for any investigation so that we can understand that scientists’ investigations are informed by current scientific theories and aim to collect evidence that will be interpreted through processes of logical argument, Show an increasing awareness of the complexity of working scientifically, including recognition of multiple variables and begin to evaluate the suitability of the investigative methods chosen.
