Assessment Instructions

During term 2 and 3 in Outdoor Education we have been exploring camping, tramping and safety skills, with particular focus on how we can use these skills for managing risk.

You have had opportunities to:

• Discover camping and tramping skills and knowledge to participate successfully

• Experimented with map and compass use

• Identifying risk and options for how to mitigate risk

• Experienced survival skills for when things go wrong

Your assessment task:

You are required to:

• Apply your learnings of camping and tramping skills to demonstrate your ability to act with safety in mind while preparing for and participating in a tramp.

• Demonstrate the use of navigational skills as a safety behaviour to mitigate the risk of getting lost while participating in a tramp.

• During a given scenario present your knowledge on how to act when things go wrong
