Science Assessment 1: Exploring New Zealand's Unique Geographical Landscape

Completion requirements
Opened: Friday, 11 March 2022, 8:30 AM
Due: Wednesday, 18 May 2022, 4:30 PM

This term we have been exploring New Zealand's unique geographical zones and geology. We have the opportunity to experience the fact that the earth's crust is never still and is constantly changing and shifting. We can also experience and see first hand the fact that under our very thin crust there is a layer of molten magma which can be used to our benefit - in geothermal warming and hot spring baths - such as those in Rotorua. Unfortunately too, living on a shifting and changing crust can also lead to disasters and loss of life.
