9OED Assessment 1: Survivor Kaitiaki

During term 1 in Outdoor Education we have been exploring sustainability in our local area, with the aim of developing our knowledge of the need to protect and care for the natural environment, which we use regularly in outdoor education. We have also been participating in a variety of ABL and survivor activities to develop and demonstrate a range of interpersonal skills for our Survivor: Kaitiaki challenge. You have had to demonstrate interpersonal skills such as leadership, communication, problem solving etc. 

You are required to:

1. Actively participate in the Survivor: Kaitiaki challenges as part of a tribe. Then verbally identify what interpersonal skills you have demonstrated, and how this has contributed to success for your tribe.

2. Submit a sustainability poster on MHOL. This must include:

• What the sustainability issue in the local area is

• Where is it occurring

• When did this begin occurring (compare past and present)

• Why is this sustainability issue occurring

• A solution to the sustainability issue
