Your task:

  • Participate in classroom activities and discussions to gain a broad understanding of different substances and their effects on society

  • In both P.E. and English, narrow your focus to a specific issue you are interested in - Big Question.  Develop a range of focus questions to direct your research

  • After completing research decide how you are going to present your research:  Speech, presentation, song, video - documentary/add/skit, poster - or other by negotiation

  • Using time in both P.E. and English, write, design, create your presentation that clearly demonstrates your understanding of your Big Question

  • Present your information to the teachers and your peers

Your topic may branch into any of the following areas - legalisation, pro’s and con’s of different substances, history, medical, advertising/marketing, new products, comparisons with other countries, effects on individuals or certain demographics - teenagers, lower socio-economic communities etc, community resources to help people with substance problems, laws etc...
