My name is Mr. Hishey and I am looking forward to knowing you better so that we all can learn together as a learning community.
My expectations are simple:
1. If you don't know, ask.
2. Practise makes perfect. So practise.
3. Spend at least half an hour daily at home to revisit what you learnt at school.
4. Success breeds success. Then only can learning become fun.
5. Keep your exercise book neat so that I can mark your book easily.
6. Pencil case with 2 pencils, 15 cm ruler, eraser, sharpner, protractor and compass. No sharing.Success Criteria: I can/have...
- completed all mathsbuddy and EP tasks from term1 and 2
- Revisied mathsbuddy and EP and taken screenshots of questions not done
- Save screenshots to a folder and share with Mr. Hishey
- Work one on one with expert other or Mr. Hishey in session to understand the method of solving those unanswered questions
- Complete weekly tests on revision, making corrections and redoing those test questions again.
- Y7 achieve mastery of level 3 Number, Geometry and Stats. Y8 mastery level 4.
Activities:
- Revisit mathsbuddy and EP and complete all pending tasks.
- Revist mathsbuddy and EP and taken screenshots of questions not done
- Save screenshots to a folder and share with Mr. Hishey

Joining the points A to B and E to F with a ruler. Incomplete work as HW.
6. 5 minutes: Recap lesson on graphs. Main points. Each student recalls 2 things they learnt.

Join A to B with a straight line.
Name this line gradient or slope. Use the letter m for slope.
Where does the slope cut the Y axis? Call this point C. C = ?
Is the gradient negative or positive? Explain.

What does the word variable mean?
Which axis represents the independent variable on a graph? Why? Explain.
