PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:

    • We are PLANNING... so that we can...In a group of no more than 6, you are to create, perform and teach a community dance. There are three stages for you to consider:
    • Create: Using the knowledge and understanding you have gained to create a community dance. It is important that you consider what makes a dance ‘community’ style. You will need to consider aspects such as tempo, skills, movements, shape, complexity and of course the choreographic concepts. Don’t forget to give your dance a name! Perform: You will need to perform your dance. It is important that you can demonstrate your dance. Teach: You may get the opportunity to teach your community dance to the rest of the class who will perform it. This is an important process as the fundamentals behind what makes a community dance, will be evident.
