    Kia ora 8C2,

    My name is Mrs Dada and I will be your eLearning teacher this year.

    A friendly reminder that your Reading Plus homework schedule starts next week (4 x See Readers, 2 x Read Arounds, and 2 x iBalance. ) This eLearning programme will help you to reach your easTTLe reading goals.

    This means that you need to use your eLearning and homework time this week to complete your InSite test + 2 x See Readers, so the Reading Plus programme can assign your correct reading level.  This is called "...completing your Start-up."

    You can complete your Start-up for homework by going to the www.readingplus.com login, entering the site code:  mheightsjc  then your school username and password. 


    • At MHJC we celebrate students reaching the 100 x See Readers mark. This means you have shown a GREAT commitment to your learning!
    • Combos (=2 x consecutive See Readers at 80% accuracy or higher) help you to advance up to the next level/grade.  Usually, the completion of 7-10 combos enables you to "level-up."
    • The programme will put you on hold if it senses that you are not reading correctly (or your comprehension is low).  
    Please email me at rdada@mhjc.school.nz  if this happens to you and use the 'Re-Read' button to assist your reading-for-meaning. 

    The homework schedule is not assigned during the school holidays, although you are free to keep working on the Reading Plus programme if you wish to. The holidays also provide an opportunity to catch-up if you have fallen behind during the school term.

    Kia ora students,

    Well done to those students who completed all their Reading Plus sessions last week. 
    Remember that you have 4 See Readers,  2 iBalance and 2 Read Around to complete. Please ensure that all your lessons are in green - so that your average reading comprehension is 80% and above. If you get any red you will be expected to do another reading lesson. 1 yellow lesson - like the one below is ok - but aim for all green!

    Please ensure that all your Reading Plus sessions are completed this week. A reminder that Reading Plus starts on Monday and ends on Sunday!
    Anyone who does not complete their Reading Plus and Maths Buddy homework will be working with Mr Morris on Monday during lunch time, so that he can support you to complete your work.

    Letters will be going home next week Monday.
