    • We are EXPLORING the Technology Design Process by developing an understanding of some of the different processes we can follow to create a product.

    • We are EXPLORING - the need or problem by identifying/asking/ figuring out what the problem is that we need to solve and what materials you have available to make/solve

    • We are EXPLORING - by researching the need (explore ideas) - brainstorm ideas (a minimum of 4 ideas) of how to create your product (Pop up card).

    Success criteria: I can/have.....

    •  Listed the 9 steps of the Technology Design Process

    • Worked through the Great Ako / Technology Design Process recording my progress in a google document or on google slides and recorded my actions on the Assessment Diary

    • Identified what the problem is that i need to solve using the materials i have on hand

    • Researched and recorded a few different ideas and then decided on the absolute best.

    Activities:

    1. Using the Student Journal - work through Pages 1,2,3.

    2. Using the Student Journal page 4 onwards - Let's Get Going ……follow these Steps / Key Stages. Complete Key Stage/Steps 1 and 2 for EXPLORE. Record your answers on your slide show or google doc.

    3. Fill in your Assessment Diary of your progress as you work through the Key Stages/ Steps to create your pop up card.

    DESIGN TECHNOLOGY

    FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

    • We are FOCUSING...identifying ideas that will solve the problem identified in EXPLORE by producing a range of sketches of ideas that will solve the problem

    • We are FOCUSING on gathering stakeholder feedback to inform our practice by gathering stakeholder feedback on our sketches/designs 1,2,3.

    • We are FOCUSING on using our stakeholder feedback to move forward and improve our design/s. come help us come up with a final design. - Now sketch your final design to make your product. This may be one of your sketches or, using feedback, you may create a new one. Say why you have chosen this design. Label this My Final Design.

    Success criteria: I can/have.....

    • Drawn a range of sketches of ideas that will solve the problem identified in EXPLORE by producing a range of sketch ideas that will solve the problem.

    • Drawn a minimum of 3 ideas. These must be all different ideas!

    • Recorded stakeholder feedback by gathering  stakeholder comments on our sketches/designs 1,2,3.

    • Used stakeholder feedback( do my designs meet the Constraints and Specifications) to move forward and improve my design/s. I have come up with a final design idea.

    • Sketched my final design to make your product (Pop up Card). Label this My Final Design.

    • Say why you have chosen this design.

    Activities:

Record the following on your Google Document or Slides and record what you did in your Assessment Diary:

    1. Produce a range of sketches of ideas that will solve the problem (use pen or pencil). Insert into your document or slides.

    2. Label each design 1,2,3

    3. Record stakeholder feedback by writing down their comments about your 3 designs. What do they think works well? What does not work so well? How does your idea solve the problem/ issue you have chosen? Do your ideas meet the Constraints and Specifications? Record this.

    4. Sketch a final design that has used your stakeholder feedback. Label it Final Design and say why you have chosen this design.

    5. Fill in your Assessment Diary of your progress as you work through the Key Stages/ Steps to create your pop up card.
