    Im super excited to have you again this year as Year 8s.

    Our context for this term is Kaitiakitanga. In PE we are going to be looking at biking and in Health we are going to be developing our knowledge of Water safety.

    Learning Intention:

    We are learning to develop our interpersonal skills through Water Safety.

    Success Criteria:

    I can Identify what the difference between water safety and swimming

    I can explain different water safety components

    I can demonstrate different interpersonal skills in the water

    I can apply and explain why using different interpersonal skills in the water had a positive or negative affect on me

      This week we are going to be focusing on creating a poster around water safety.

      In this poster I would like a catchy phase, a image and at least two water safety statistics.

      These posters will then be displayed within the classroom and used as a teaching resource for next year.

      Kia ora Year 8, this week we are looking at the knee joint and how that works. We will be looking at tendons, cartilage and liagments. In PE we will be doing our mid term BEEP test.

    Kia ora Forest!

    This week we will be having our closing ceremony! We will be announcing the winners of each year group. Mr Nutt and I have also selected students who have demonstrated Olympic values throughout this term.

    Well done on a wonderful Olympic term!

      • We are PLANNING on creating our own Forest Olympics so that we can demonstrate Olympic values and apply our skills learnt to new sports.

      In PE this week we will continue to focus on movement skills. This week we will be looking into Athletics. This is also in build up for inter whanau Athletics.

      - I understand how to throw a shot put and discus

      - I understand the technique behind high jump and long jump

      - I understand how to pace myself in the middle distance events
