    Im super excited to have you again this year as Year 8s.

    Our context for this term is Kaitiakitanga. In PE we are going to be looking at biking and in Health we are going to be developing our knowledge of Water safety.

    Learning Intention:

    We are learning to develop our interpersonal skills through Water Safety.

    Success Criteria:

    I can Identify what the difference between water safety and swimming

    I can explain different water safety components

    I can demonstrate different interpersonal skills in the water

    I can apply and explain why using different interpersonal skills in the water had a positive or negative affect on me

      Kia ora Year 8,

      This week we are going to be focusing on creating a poster around water safety.

      In this poster I would like a catchy phase, a image and at least two water safety statistics.

      These posters will then be displayed within the classroom and used as a teaching resource for next year.

      This week we will be focusing on acting out some different water safety scenarios. You will be in groups to complete these and have to act them out in front of the class. We will also be learning the new games Ki o rahi!

    • We are PLANNING a trip to Goat Island so that we can apply our knowledge learnt around Water safety.

    Kia ora Year 8s,

    This week we are off to Goat Island! Hopefully the weather is good for us and we can have a wonderful day.

    Remember you need your togs, lunch and something warm to put on afterwards.
