    I hope you enjoy this year as you learn a range of musical skills and styles and being or continue to develop your work on an instrument.

    This year we will be covering a range of topics - from music history (including NZ Music in May for New Zealand Music Month), music theory, performance and more.

    In Term One we will start by exploring the MUSICAL ELEMENTS through a range of activities. As part of this we will be developing our keyboard or fretboard skills as well as getting used to using our bodies and voices to feel the music.

    This week, you will practice the music as individuals. You should try to get the opening part of your music down.

    • Identified the instrument-specific techniques you need to work on to perform the piece

    Activities:

    • Listening to a recording of your piece to identify the techniques required and difficult sections
    • Practice time - learning the opening section of your piece
