    From Week 4, we will be introduced to tonal value and learn how to successfully apply tonal modelling using dry media (pencil).

    Tūrangawaewae painting project

    Hi everyone, from this week, we will begin our first Painting Unit, which is called the Tūrangawaewae painting project.

    We will begin by preparing the ground + producing planning drawing on Tuesday.

    Tūrangawaewae painting project

    We are continuing with our Tūrangawaewae painting project.

    This week, we are focusing on working on painting 5 different backgrounds of our painting and transferring our final concept idea onto our backgrounds.

    Tūrangawaewae painting project

    From this week (Wk 8) until the end of Term 1, we will continue with our Tūrangawaewae painting project.

    From this week until WEEK 11, we will be painting our sections. It is important to be constantly referring to an image reference when painting, as this will ensure you are accurately capturing every detail and texture of your chosen subject matter. 


  • Term 2/ Week 1-3

    Kia Ora Year 10 Art students!

    Here is our focus for Week 1 through to Week 3. We will spend time refining our Tūrangawaewae painting project, in preparation for the final submission on Friday Week 3. Remember, as part of the assessment you will submit your concept design drawing as well as your final painting. 

    I will include the assessment criteria so you can see what it looks like to be 'working towards''working at''working above' and 'working beyond'.

    I can't wait to see all your beautifully completed paintings! :)
