This term we start looking at performances, but to begin our term we are celebrating New Zealand Music Month.
Activities:
- Testing our prior knowledge of NZ music - what do we already know?
- Exploration of NZ Music - listening to a range of songs from different periods in NZ history
- Practicing a NZ song/waiata
- Success criteria:
- Identify a range of different NZ music artists and their songs
- Explain the cultural/historical/social significance of some of these songs

This week, you are officially starting the process of performing live to audiences within (or outside) our school. This will be your first assessment.
This week, you will begin by finding the music and the resources that you need to start the practice and rehearsal process. You might try learn a bit of a piece to gauge whether or not it's the right difficulty in consultation with Mr Bartlett and Mr Picot.
