    Kia ora...and welcome to Week 2 of Term 1. My name is Mrs Priest and I will be your Hospitality teacher.

    Tuesdays will be our practical days and Thursdays will be our theory days. The first topic will be all about Coffee - how and where coffee beans are grown, how they are processed and you will learn how to make espressos on an espresso machine.

     of Term 1

    This week we will be starting our assessment topic. Coffee! We have a coffee machine and will learn how to be mini baristas! Exciting!

    On Tuesday we will be baking Gingerbread man and on Friday we will start learning about coffee.

    On Friday we will be looking at the anatomy of a coffee cherry, the two main different types of coffee beans and how to best store them.

      • Kia ora...and welcome to Week 7 of Term 1.

        On Tuesday we will be making Oreo Brownies and on Friday we will be looking at how the milk steamer is used as well as the different types of espresso coffees available.

      Kia ora...and welcome to Week 8 of Term 1.

      On Tuesday we are making Chicken Carbonara as requested. On Friday you will be frothing milk and making yourself a hot chocolate. While you are waiting for your turn, there is a task on GC for you to complete on coffee grinder.

      I hope you had a fabulous Easter break.

      On Friday we will be grinding coffee beans and making espresso coffees. While I show students, please complete the work on GC.

      On Friday we will cover the last coffee topic, the impact of coffee on society.  We are investigating the social and environmental and sustainability impact that coffee has around the world.

      On Tuesday we will be making Spring rolls and on Friday you can do the Practise Assessment and we will also have the Espresso Machine out for anybody that needs to catch up on frothing milk or making espresso.

      On Tuesday we will be making pizza dough as well as cheesy garlic bread. The pizza dough will be frozen for next week.

      On Thursday we will be making Coffees for staff, as well as Monday before school and Wed lunch time.

      Kia ora...and welcome to Week 5.

      I only see you on Tuesday this week as Friday is Teacher Only Day. On Tuesday we will be using the pizza dough you made last week and you will make Mexican Pizza.
