    Kia Ora!

    Welcome to our first proper week back at school.  I hope you have all been able to settle in and weren't too affected by the weather or floods.

    We will spend our first few sessions playing a range of ice breakers and games to help us get to know each other.  As we all come from different whanau it can feel a bit awkward.

    A range of these activities include:

    Name games, bang, Trust activities, Blind Keys, Ninja Warrior, Laser beams, charades, whiz, cowboys, vikings, sitting circle, evolution, clap alphabet, musical chairs, stop/go, find the squees, pass the clap, ground tapping, helium hoops, possum in a tree, and more!

      - Appropriate Communication, Patience and Tolerance, Support and Encouragement
    2. P.E.: Range of games and activities to practice and demonstrate our interpersonal skills.
      - Red light/green light, class challenge benchball

    Success Criteria:

    Participate in a social action.

    Over the next four weeks, you will learn an uplifting song (Rise Up by Andra Day) and perform it to Forest Whanau as a Social Action which represents helping others and being strong. 

    You will be applying your interpersonal skills; appropriate communication, support and encouragement, team work and cooperation, patience and tolerance, in order to work together to perform a dance of good quality.

    Activities:

    1. Find a dance partner
    2. Watch Miss Shields amazing video
    3. Begin rehearsals - learning the chorus

    Over the next four weeks, you will learn an uplifting song (Rise Up by Andra Day) and perform it to Forest Whanau as a Social Action which represents helping others and being strong. 

    You will be applying your interpersonal skills; appropriate communication, support and encouragement, team work and cooperation, patience and tolerance, in order to work together to perform a dance of good quality.

    Activities:

    1. Rehearse chorus until memorised
    2. Begin on the verse of the song
    3. Recap Interpersonal Skills in Health - begin writing basic paragraphs, with a template to describe your interpersonal skills

    FOCUS / ARONGA

    FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

    • We are FOCUSING on developing a dance for pink shirt day
    • We are FOCUSING on enhancing our knowledge around different dance movements
    • We are FOCUSING on enhancing our knowledge around bones and muscles invovled in dance movements.

    Over the next four weeks, you will learn an uplifting song (Rise Up by Andra Day) and perform it to Forest Whanau as a Social Action which represents helping others and being strong. 

    You will be applying your interpersonal skills; appropriate communication, support and encouragement, team work and cooperation, patience and tolerance, in order to work together to perform a dance of good quality.

    Activities:

    1. Rehearse full routine until memorised
    2. Work on tidying any messy parts
    3. Work with 9F1 during FFR time - as both classes perform together
    4. Recap Interpersonal Skills in Health - begin writing basic paragraphs, with a template to describe your interpersonal skills

    3. Work on tidying any messy parts
    4. Performance on Friday as part of Kindness Week and Pink Shirt Day
    5. Remembering any key interpersonal skills you demonstrated - ready for your write up on Tuesday

    You will be applying your interpersonal skills; appropriate communication, support and encouragement, team work and cooperation, patience and tolerance, in order to work together to perform a dance of good quality.

    Activities:

    1. Complete your write up during Tuesday Health Class describing interpersonal skills you demonstrated during the dance or rehearsal process
    2. Submit
    3. In P.E. - Working on Bootcamp, fitness skills and a P.E. fun game.

    Complete our Cross Country Course in under 24mins

    Activities:

    1. Complete muscle quiz - 100% in under 40seconds
    2. Complete bones quiz - 100% in under 20seconds
    3. Cross Country Practice - must complete the course in under 22 minutes

    Success Criteria:

    Able to confidently identify all bones and muscles in the human body.
    Able to begin identifying some movements of the body

    Activities:

    1. Complete muscle quiz - 100% in under 40seconds
    2. Complete bones quiz - 100% in under 20seconds
    3. Learning definitions for movements of the body
      Flexion and Extension, Abduction and Adduction, Circumduction and Rotation, Plantarflexion and Dorsiflexion, Pronation and Supination
    4. Cross Country Practice - must complete the course in under 22 minutes

    I am away at OPC this week,  So you you will have a reliever.

    Please help them with gear and games.

    You will be playing a mixture of benchball, multisport, capture the flag etc

    You will have P.E. for all three classes, Two health lessons next week.

    • Focussing on correct hand placement for digging and seting.
    • Explain Key changes that occur to both genders

    1. Setting up nets - playing a low game - getting used to setting up 3, passes then over
    2. Identify the major hormones that triggers puberty, look and what changes occur. 
    3. Understand the purpose of those changes

    2. Identify the major hormones that triggers male puberty, look and what changes occur.

    4. Labelling images of the male reproductive functions and recording their purpose

    1. Challenged other members of the class to a Badminton match - rotating through different groups/teams
