This week we are going to be refreshing our memory of film techniques, and ensuring we all have a shared understanding of key terminology. This will provide the platform from which we will launch into a series of lessons where we will deepen our knowledge of techniques and their effect!

S1 - WE ARE LEARNING TO IDENTIFY THE ELEMENTS OF A VISUAL TEXT

I will know I have been successful when I have:

    • Worked effectively in pairs
    • completed the film techniques template
    • analysed visual texts (music video / movie trailer) and identified the visual elements it contains

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Work with a someone you don't normally work with and each complete the chart.
    2. Use the internet and links provided to help write your descriptions, then find images from your favorite films that show the film technique that is described.
      • For example, if you describe what a Close up shot is, then find an image of a close up shot from a film and post it in the document.

    - All resources on Google Classroom

S2 - WE ARE LEARNING TO IDENTIFY AND EXPLAIN WHAT THE COMPONENTS OF MISE EN SCENE ARE

    • can identify the five elements of mise-en-scene
    • have worked effectively in small groups
    • have identified what settings and props are the most common in the genre you have been assigned to analyse
