Week 5
We should have finished our Assessment 1 and the sewing of our bags. If not we can continue sewing our bags at the same time starting our new challenge to make PJ Boxers.
BOXERS…
Learning Intentions -
We are EXPLORING the different characteristics of Fibres/Fabrics so that we know what we need to consider when choosing fabric that will be fit for purpose - summer PJ Boxers.
We are FOCUSING on reading a pattern, pattern symbols and preparing our pattern and pinning to our fabric so that we can cut it out.
We are PLAN /MAKING our boxers following the instructions on GC, the cards in class and checking with the teacher. Pinned my pattern on correctly, Cut out, Plain Seam, Curved Seam, Neatening, Casing, Hemming
Success Criteria:
BOXERS:
I can/ have particpated in the workshops on fabric/fibre characteristics and written this up.
I can/have completed the activities set on GC and in class on using a pattern, pattern symbols, preparing fabric and cutting out.
I can/have cut out my boxers.
I can/have constructed my boxers following the instructions on GC and on the cards in class.
I can/have recorded visually my progress in the making of my boxers for my Assessment 2. Prepared my fabric, Pinned on my pattern correctly, Cut out, Plain Seam, Curved Seam, Neatening, Casing, Hemming.
Activities:Complete the activities in the Journal on GC 1-7 for the Bag.
Make = Sew your bag together - follow instructions given by the teacher or use the laminated instruction cards.
Make sure all T2 GC activities are turned in
Boxers - Term 3
Participate in the workshop/class discussion with Mrs H - Fibre / Fabric Characteristics.
Write up the findings from workshop/class discussion.
Complete the activities in the Boxer Journal doc on GC.
Participate in the activities in class and complete the activities on GC re Patterns, Pattern symbols, preparing fabric and cutting out.
Prepare your fabric and pattern - check with the teacher before cutting out.
Construct your boxers following the instructions on the cards, GC or seek help from the teacher.
Record your progress visually for Assessment 2
Assessment 2: Pinned on my pattern correctly, Cut out, Plain Seam, Curved Seam, Neatening, Casing, Hemming.
