  • Kia ora, this week renews our focus on the Olympics - specifically Rio & Beijing, two Olympics of great note. One embodies the corruption and failings of the IOC, the other embodies what can happen when a country wishes to announce itself to a new century. We will be comparing the controversies of both, and the economics behind what it truly takes to put on the world's most expensive events. This will almost certainly take the full week.

    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • I can compare and contrast the highs and lows of their respective ceremonies
    • I can critically analyse some of the decisions Brazil and China made when it came to making their Olympics a success
