    Everyone is writing a Book Review on our shared novel "The Cay by Theodore Taylor.

    This week you can spend some time on your draft book review :o) This is assessment 2 for English and is due on Friday 30th June (last day of term 2)


    Learning Intentions: We are learning to (WALT)...

    • Respond to text with our own unique writing voices
    • listen to a novel as a shared reading and writing experience

    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • Use a variety of simple , compound and complex sentences in my writing
    • proof read for punctuation and sentence sense in short answers
    • give feed back and feed forward to a classmate's writing

    Activities:

    1. Monday S4: View the power point presentation on google classroom - 'How to write A Book Review' - make short notes in your English book. Read the pages that are glued into your English books on 'How to Write a Book Review' - go over them carefully and think about your own book review.
    2. Thursday S4: Writing your book review draft in your English book - following the guide to writing a book review (this is already glued into your English books) -  have a buddy read over, check for capitals, full stops and sentences that make sense... 
    3. Friday S5: Who? What? Where? When? - cut each of the 16 squares and glue into your English book. Then cut the 16 squares that match up and glue beside them.
