- We are REFLECTING on data collection methods
- We are REFLECTING on findings of others' statistical investigations to see if their claims are believable and reasonable
- We are REFLECTING on political party policies and voting for our 2023 election winners!
PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:
- We are PLANNING and sending home a Google Form so that we can survey our community (cost of living)
- We are PLANNING to collect data from a group and share it with our class so that we can also use data collected by others
- We are COMMUNICATING findings in context
- We are CONSTRUCTING graphs and viewing data visualisations
- We are PLANNING and REHEARSING our final political party policy
- We are JUSTIFYING and PRESENTING our policy to our Ngahere/Forest Whanau election
Ngahere/Forest Whanau Election
Success Criteria:
• I can work collaboratively and co-operative in a Yr 7 to 10 political party towards a goal
• I can research the 'cost of living crisis' and develop policy to present solutions to challenges
• I can present my 'solution/s' in Ngahere/Forest's election assemblyActivities:
- Curriculum - Voting Compass/ Google Form - FORM the Party groups (Yr 7-10)
- Split Whānau into the Party groups (Yr 7-10) JUST Session 3 - Logo/ Name and some ideas for Policy statements for each year level.
- Party discussions and planning. Elect Year level MP’s
- In year-level home rooms developing Party statements and planning.
- During the Week- Campaign for Voters
- Present Party plans
- Voting and Results on Friday of Week 10.
