EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:
- We are EXPLORING the understanding and research of the fundamental rules, objectives, and discover the gameplay mechanics of striking and fielding games.
- We are EXPLORING our content by analysing various game situations and scenarios to identify decision-making opportunities.
- We are EXPLORING our context by recognizing and observing external influences, such as media, peer pressure, and societal norms, on lifestyle choices.
Your context for this term is " Our action can unite or divide communities "You will be focusing on Decision Making content that requires you to develop strategies for making informed choices. You will apply this knowledge in PE by participating in a range of Striking and Fielding games.
For Health, you will practice decision making skills through hypothetical scenarios relating to lifestyle choices such as vaping and peer pressure.
Your assessment this term will be a practical based assessment where you will Demonstrate effective decision-making by selecting appropriate strategies and tactics based on game circumstances such as a Striking and Fielding activity.
Please remember: You will have a reliever for the first four weeks of Term 3 while I am away overseas. You will also have two Health sessions a week and one practical lesson.
Learning Intention:
PE- To understand and research fundamental rules, objectives and also discover the gameplay mechanics of a striking and fielding game.
Health- To recognise and observe exeternal influences, such as media, peer pressure and societal norms on lifestyle choices.
Monday- HEA
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Identify what Peer Pressure is
- Define what " PEER" means to you
Today, you will be completing a Ed Puzzle/worksheet about Peer Pressure on Google classroom. You are required to watch the video provided and answer the worksheet questions in your health books.
Wednesday- Practical
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate team skills
- Identify 3 rules from Longball
Today, you will be playing Longball. The reliever will mark the roll and send you down to the gym to get changed. Bring your change of gear as you are participating unless you have told Mr Mckimmon why you don't have it. I expect everyone to bring their gear or this result in having Health for the rest of the term.
What games have similar rules or layout as Longball? What are the differences between Longball and Kickball? What are some similar sports that resemble movements of body and ball?
I want you to start practicing thinking strategically in a team. How will you make it home successfully? Will it result in a loss? What do you or your team need to do to successfully win the game?
Thursday- HEA
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Identify the influences of Peer Pressure
- What ages does Peer Pressure affect people the most?- Develop strategies for dealing with peer pressure effectively
Today, you will continue with Peer Pressure and the influence it has on society. Why is it so negative?
