FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:
- We are FOCUSING on how the different food groups influence our eating habits and discuss the effects it has on the human body.
- We are FOCUSING on the different meals and exercises that were used during the War compared to modern society, so that we can adapt it to ourselves and be able to discuss the different resources that have been used overtime
Monday- In class session
Learning Intention: We are exploring the context of Develop, Do, change by identifying the different food groups that make up a healthy meal plan.
Today, we will be analysing Nutritional labels using the two clean labels you have brought from home.
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Identify the different food groups that provide nutritional value.
- Understand what calories and kilojoules are.
Wednesday- In class session
Learning Intentions-We are exploring the context of Develop, Do, change by identifying the different food groups that make up a healthy meal plan.Today I will be introducing Meal planning. You must bring your health books and devices and your 2 clean nutrition labels so that we can analyse them to compare.
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson you will know and understand:
- Identifying Key Nutrients: Familiarize yourself with the key nutrients listed on the label, such as calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, sugar, sodium, and vitamins/minerals.
- Understand the recommended daily intake for each nutrient.
Thursday- In class session
Learning Intentions-We are exploring the context of Develop, Do, change by identifying the different food groups that make up a healthy meal plan.
We will be looking at a common meal of a soldier from WWII.
I will also be discussing the assessement for this term.
Success Criteria:
By the end of this lesson you will be able to:
- Identify Sufficient Energy Intake: The diet plan should provide enough calories to support the soldier's physical activity level and meet their energy needs.
- Analyse Nutrient Density: The diet plan should prioritize nutrient-dense foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
For the assessment, you are required to create a day's healthy meal in a pamphlet format. Please refer to the file I have uploaded.
