• We are EXPLORING the music of our country, Aotearoa New Zealand

Activities:

• Testing our prior knowledge of NZ music - what do we already know?
• Exploration of NZ Music - listening to a range of songs from different periods in NZ history
• Discussing the cultural significance of particular songs
• Creating a playlist of NZ songs

Success criteria:

• Identify a range of different NZ music artists and their songs
• Explain the cultural/historical/social significance of some of these songs
• Have begun to compile a playlist of significant NZ songs
