Section outline

  •   This week we will be looking at Rotation and Translation

Rotations - GCSE Maths - Steps, Examples & Worksheet

    Paearu Angitu / Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • Rotate a shape around a point.
    • Describe the rotation of a shape.
    • Translate a shape using the given vector.
    • Identify the vector for a given shape

    Hei Mahi / Activities:

    1. Do Now- Rounding numbers, Fractions, Ludi
    2. Video on Rotating shapes- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgKHtet5dNU
    3. Group 1-  You will start by rotating some of the shapes along a given point. If you are confident doing this, you will then be completing tasks on Dr Frost on identifying the point of rotation.
    4. Rest of the class- You will be Rotate some of the given shapes from Alpha book . We will then identify the point symmetry and order of symmetry for given shapes.
    5. Complete the task in the following link- https://contrib.pbslearningmedia.org/WGBH/mgbh/mgbh-int-anglerota/index.html - Rotational Symmetry
