Using the word "the" or Te & Ngā
The word ‘the” refers to a specific object. There is no 'S' in the Māori alphabet so the word that comes before the noun shows that something is either singular or plural.
‘te’ means the ........ when there is one object
‘ngā’ means the ..........when there is more than one object
For example,
te tama = the boy. ngā tama = the boys
