    FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

    • We are FOCUSING...on 'Bullying' by developing our understanding of 'Bullying Behaviours.'
    • We are FOCUSING...on 'Bullying' by choosing suitable strategies to deal with those 'Bullying Behaviours.'
    • We are FOCUSING...on 'Communication' by identifying the elements of social media.
    • We are FOCUSING...on 'Communication' by developing our understanding of online safety.

    Term 2: Week 6


    Context: Debating

    Our context for this term is "Staying Safe". This concept is great because it is open to interpretation in that we are able to use many avenues to explore the topic. To me, it is a look into how we are able to stay safe at school and online.

    The overall working plan for English this term will look something like this using the term context as a slight guide: *

    - Revisiting PEEL paragraphs (2 WEEKS)

    - Short skits & scriptwriting (2 WEEKS)

    - Presentation skills & speeches (3 WEEKS)

    - Debating protocol & constructing effective arguments (3 WEEKS)

    Success Criteria for Term 1: We are learning to...

    1) Construct persuasive essays

    2) Adapt and use oral presentation skills

    3) Build confidence in expressing our voices

    4) Create detailed and well-researched arguments 

    5) Present our ideas about safety through our writing and with our voices
