    Welcome to English.  We have a full program this year, so let's crack on.

    Success Criteria: I can

    • Discuss the importance of English as a communication tool

    Activities:

        1. Leave the first page of your book for your title page.

        2. Briefly brainstorm world communication tools. Can students recall 3 examples?

        3. Watch following clip – 

        1. List as many examples of communication shown in the clip. 

        2. Create a timeline in your book. 

        3. Share within your table. Add to your list

        4.  Categorise events into written and non-written communication styles

        5. Pair/share: Discuss the relevance of communication in the study of English.  

        6. Title page: Create a visual representation of what learning in English means to you.  Finish for h/w
