    PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI

PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:

    • We are presenting our speech for an audience.

This week, would have been our live speech presentations in class. You have worked hard writing it, preparing cue cards and I believe memorising your speech so we shall not let your efforts be wasted.

Instead of presenting it in class, this week you will do a video recording of you presenting the speech. You may have your family members as your audience if you want but they must be quite for you.

The advantage of doing a video recording presentation is that you can have several takes and just email me the best one for assessment!

Make sure to check the assessment rubric to guide your presentation.

To record your speech, please take note of the following:

    • video must be well lit so that is is absolutely clear
    • you must have a plain background - a background with pictures and wall arts can be distracting to the viewer
    • you must make sure that there are no noises, chattering or distracting sounds in the background
    • you must look into the camera for eye contact
    • you must use a medium shot framing ( upper body). See the images below
    • you must be decently dressed - everyday clothes but decent
    • you must upload your video on Google Drive, then share with me

    • review your video recordings and take as many shots as you like. Then share your best recording (the one you are happy to use for speech assessment)!
    • you must refer to the assessment rubric for each criteria. You will be assessed on these.

Have fun making your speech video!
