We are going to start exploring the scientific method and how it is and has been used to develop theories and ideas based on experiments and analysis of results.

- State what each step of the scientific method is
- Identify independent, dependent and controlled variables
Activities:
- Teacher to ask starter questions to get students thinking and draw on background knowledge of 'what does a plant need to grow?'
- Discussion on what sort of things can we measure about the plant or things that affect its growth?
